“Maybe. Or maybe not. Who can understand Sherlock?” She smiled slightly to her. “I think you are important to him…in his own way.”
Irene looks up once more, forcing a smile. Even after all this time, it still hurts. “Yes, I stopped trying to understand him a while ago, and I really do hate giving up.”
“He traveled really far to save your life, he cares about you, I’m sure.” Molly smiled and gently squeezed Irene’s hand. “Look us…” She said with a sigh, “Sad because him, and he’ll never notice.”
Irene looks up, a smaller but more genuine smile on her face. Molly understands this. “The curse of knowing him, I suppose. Do you think Doctor Watson’s happy?”
“Um…I’m not sure, I don’t know John very well, but I think he’s happy…I’m sure sometimes he’s mad with Sherlock, for example when he find body parts in their home.” She chuckled.
Irene laughs at that too. “Yes, I don’t imagine anyone ever quites get used to that. It’s funny, I don’t know him particularly well either - and we didn’t meet under the best of circumstances.”
“When I saw him he was always with Sherlock, we have never met alone. But he and Sherlock take care of each other so…I suppose it’s ok.” She smiled.
